What is the best way to learn Woodcraft?

If it’s woodcraft, bushcraft, welding, plumbing, tin knocking, gunmaking, or some other professional profession, the response is the same.

1- Read everything you can about the topic from reputable sources. Read it again, then read it again, and then keep reading until you’re done.

2- Since simply watching the show and tell doesn’t provide you with the context and depth knowledge needed to really understand what’s going on and why, it’s often helpful when you’ve done a lot of reading. That is why you must learn, read, and read some more.

3- The real hands-on work, which can be performed under the close supervision of a tradesperson. Part of this is to avoid developing unhealthy habits, and part of it is to learn how to take positive feedback, so you can’t learn until you’re able to be humble.

4- Study even more now and after you have the show and tell as well as some hands-on training, you can go back and re-read what you’ve already read because you’ll learn even more from the re-read now that you’ve gained more knowledge and experience.

5- More opportunities to put what you’ve learned into practice.

6- Also, you can purchase any of the online crafts’ plans; it would be extremely beneficial if you are directed throughout the whole process with the correct dimensions so that you do not waste too much wood. Learn more about these plans .

7- More reading is required.

Yes, I put a lot of emphasis on reading because it is so important for learning. I’ve worked in the trades for a long time and still spend at least one hour per week researching trade-related professional content because no matter how much you think you know, you never know enough.

Again, the caveat is to read “CREDIBLE” sources, which involves ignoring all of what’s on the Internet and 99.999 percent of what’s synonymous with do-it-yourself projects. It’s a shame that DIY’er stuff started off with positive ideas, but has now devolved into primarily a supermarket sales promotion tactic that causes more issues than anything else. Yes, there are some outstanding DIY’ers out there who exchange good information, but I would advise you to check out competent details once you have mastered the ability to differentiate between good information and Internet warrior nonsense.
